Ruminants
Sheep and Goats
Ruminants are known as artiodactyls having complicated stomachs and cud-chewing habits. Most artiodactyls have highly specialized stomachs. Pecora (higher ruminants) generally have four-chambered stomachs and same type of horns. Most lack upper incisors, using the lower incisors and canines against a horny pad for cropping. The two functional toes became fused into a cannon bone.
Artiodactyls are even-toed ungulates (hoofed animals), in which the weight is carried between two center toes. They are also herbivores (plant eaters), and have hollow horns, made of modified hair, over a bony core.
The Humane Center for Animal Welfare provides free veterinary support and animal care to those working and productive animals who are a source of economic livelihood to their owners, HCAW treats these animals and provides them with the necessary care free of charge through donations from HCAW's friends and supporters..
