Our Small Animals Hospital includes a well equipped Treatment room, an X-ray room, Surgery Preparation Room, Operating Theater, ICU Unit, Recovery Room and Grooming Room.

In-patients receive 24 hour care from our dedicated in-house animal handlers.

We perform over 12,000 cases a year ranging from dogs & cats to animals as diverse as pet rabbits, birds (parrots, owls), turtles and fish.

Behind the scenes, your pet receives the advantage of carefully organized, team-based care. Our certified veterinarians and dedicated staff are motivated to provide the very best in quality care with compassion.

Neuter and Spaying Campaigns

Once in a while, the Center initiates free Neuter and Spaying campaigns to help control over population of cats and dogs. Campaigns of this kind will never eradicate species, they are intended solely to control numbers in order to avoid suffering, scavenging and nuisance issues in animals. The Center’s policy on adopting pets from the Center includes the provision that neuter/spaying procedures are carried out.  Our last in-house campaign was managed by our resident doctors, and was carried out over a period of three days, when in response to our advertising the campaign, owners brought in stray cats and dogs from their areas for the necessary free procedure.

We also have a large animal hospital that is fully equipped to provide veterinary care to local animals. Services include 24-hour intensive veterinary care for equines, camels and ruminants (cattle, goats and sheep). It is part of our mission to not only treat but to also support those whose economic livelihood is dependent upon their working/productive animals by providing nutritional counselling and health services free of charge.

Livelihood Support

In 2016, we treated over 3,200 working farm animals free of charge.

On top of providing animal care, our staff at HCAW apply their veterinary knowledge and professional experience to contribute to local wild life conservation. We have treated and rescued many species from wild birds to reptiles and wild mammals.

Our main focus in dealing with wild animals is to ensure that all received species are treated humanely and thoughtfully. We also promote the freedom of wild animals and the importance of releasing them after treatment.

Thank you to our Friends...

When wildlife conservation happens, we often work as a team to ensure the best possible outcomes for the animal in need.

Also, a huge thank you to the many of YOU that contact us to save an animal in need. We receive daily calls and visits to rescue animals who are mistreated, injured or lost. Thank you for taking care of our animals with such love and compassion. Without the support of our community, our mission would be impossible.
